Alli did not dive when winning the free-kick which was converted by Christian Eriksen for the equaliser against Juventus. It could almost have been classed as a second assist of the game — Alli having played in the remarkable Kane for Tottenham’s opener. But re-watching the game, Alli was as influential as anyone. For one reason or another, elements of doubt and negativity still follow him but Tottenham, the Premier League and England are lucky to have him.
