Delays after serious crash on Strate Highway 1 south of TaupoSIMON MAUDE/FAIRFAX NZ Six people were injured in the crash. A person has been flown to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition after a crash on State Highway 1, south of Taupo. The road was down to one lane while the scene was cleared and the police serious crash unit investigated. One person was flown to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition, police said. Emergency services were called to the scene on SH1 at Waitahanui about 5.30pm where six people were reported as injured.
