People of Bekra Atgram, Salimabad unions in Nagarpur upazila have been using a bamboo bridge, which they feel is not safe to use. Messrs Alif Enterprise, a contractor company took the work order of constructing a 15 metre long RCC girder bridge on the Amghat road, connecting Nagarpur and Salimabad. Ten months have passed since the work order was received, but bridge construction is yet to start. Locals say that after the contractor company got the work order, they demolished the old bridge and sold it. Moniruzzaman Khan Mintu, owner of the contractor company, said: "It took us three months to remove the electric pole by the old bridge.
