Defiant stand stymies Black Caps drive for victory in ZimbabweRYAN PIERSE/GETTY IMAGESCraig Ervine's maiden test hundred and a fifty on debut from Peter Moor stalled New Zealand's bid to complete another comprehensive victory over Zimbabwe in the series finale in Bulawayo. Southee, the unfortunate bowler when Ervine was dropped, broke a 65-run opening stand when Tino Mawoyo (26) played on when attempting a late leave. While Boult was cursed, the remainder of the Black Caps attack were making steady inroads, reducing Zimbabwe to 147 for five before Ervine and Moor showed initiative for the first time in a slow moving innings. Boult had the consolation of conceding just 1.76 runs per over from his unrewarded 21 overs of toil. Victory is still a feasible outcome at the Queens Sports Club though Ervine and Moor delayed the seemingly inevitable with a superb counter attacking 171-run stand for the sixth wicket in just under three hours.
