DUBLIN: Ryanair Chief Executive Michael O'Leary broke months of media silence on Tuesday to defend his decision to recognise unions for the first time in 32 years. He also said he is not stepping aside to make way for Peter Bellew who left Malaysia Airlines to join Ryanair. O'Leary said union recognition would open new opportunities for Ryanair, allowing it to work in heavily unionised countries like France and Denmark.
