Dominic (Mimmo) Scopelliti said he would never have married the daughter of mobster Rocco Zito, if he had known what type of man he was getting for a father-in-law, court heard. “That was tough to hear?” Scopelliti’s lawyer, Brian Ross, asked Zito’s daughter, Laura Scopelliti, in University Ave. court on Friday. “Ya,” Laura Scopelliti replied. “What was left?” Laura Scopelliti also denied she was pressured by Zito’s brother Pasquale (Pat) Zito to make her ex-husband look bad. “He said, ‘I’m going to leave you penniless’,” she said of Pat Zito.
