A defamation complaint was lodged on Saturday in a court in Chandauli against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for his ‘dalali’ remark targetting Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the surgical strikes. Local lawyer Sadanand Singh moved the application under IPC Section 500 (Punishment for defamation) in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate which fixed the hearing for October 25. The complainant alleged that the ‘dalali’ remark made by Gandhi against the Prime Minister has extremely hurt him as well as the countrymen. “Jinhone Hindustan ke liye surgical strike kiye hain, unke khoon ke peeche aap chhupe hain. In his complaint, Singh termed Gandhi’s remark as unfortunate which has been made to “harm the popularity” of Modi.
