The doe named Shyama gave birth in the early hours of Wednesday, Mehedi Hasan, keeper of animals at Uttara Ganabhaban, told the Dhaka Tribune. It will get a name after Natore Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shah Reaz visits the Ganabhaban on Wednesday afternoon, he added. Other than deer, Ganabhaban is also host to two monkeys, two mynas, two parrots, one African grey parakeet and one peacock. Natore NDC Aninda Kumar Mandal said: "The DC will name the fawn after coming to Ganabhaban in the afternoon.”
