Kuala Pilah: Deepavali came early for 34 single mothers and poor families in Kampung Tebat Kering Hall, near here, when they received grocery essentials, today. The programme was organised by the Senaling state assembly coordinating office, and the goodies were presented by community activist Zailan Munawar at the community hall. Also present were Senaling state coordinator Md Rais Basiron and Village Community Management Council chairman Anuar Jusoh. The recipients were a picture of joy and happiness as they received the goodies, to help them celebrate the upcoming Festival of Lights. She added that to put food on the table, she had to work as a restaurant helper in Kuala Pilah.
