A village is set to benefit from a flood defence funding package costing more than £50 million which looks to protect thousands of homes and businesses. The funding forms part of a wider £1.4 billion national investment and will deliver upgrades including Debenham Phase 2. The funding will cover the costs of improving flood doors, automatic air bricks, and deployable flood barriers and is set to help 89 homes and five businesses. "Working with local councils and partners, we’re delivering a wide range of projects, from traditional flood defences to natural flood management, to protect communities better now and into the future." Floods Minister Emma Hardy said the investment will help protect more properties and business across the region, while supporting jobs, growth and local resilience.
