BOSTON—Authorities are confirming the eighth death in the powerful nor’easter that swept across the U.S. Northeast. Earlier Saturday, authorities reported two other deaths from the storm, which at the time brought the total to seven. A 25-year-old man in Connecticut and a 57-year-old Pennsylvania man were killed when trees fell on their cars Friday. MacDonald is the first Massachusetts resident confirmed dead in the storm and the third in New England. With the storm so far away, the lingering hazards showed how powerful and massive it is, he said.
