Death Toll Hits Three In Lagos Collapse Building


Another body has been recovered under the rubbles of a three-storey building under construction that collapsed in Yaba axis of Lagos State, increasing the death toll to three. The body, a bricklayer, has been handed over to the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) after it was brought out by emergency responders at the collapsed building situated at No.16, Akanbi Crescent in Onike, Yaba. WesternPost gathered that the corpsw was brought out at about 11pm on Saturday, just as emergency officials led by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) intensified search and rescue operations at the scene. It would be recalled that two bodies were brought out and another two were rescued by the search and rescue officials at the collapsed building. Confirming the death toll, Director-General, LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, added that the rescue operations were still ongoing.
