At nine years old I didn’t know that if I studied hard I could enter university and become a graduate. I studied hard only because I was afraid of my teachers! Come to think of it, the root cause of my achievement today is probably the caning that I received from my maths teacher. I’m lucky to have gone through an education system where my teachers strongly believed in the saying “spare the rod and spoil the child”. Thanks for the caning, teachers.
