Suzette Spurrell, Eastern Health's communicable disease control nurse co-ordinator, has been leading the health authority's contact-tracing team during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was totally different than what we had dealt with before, it was almost like we were … dealing with a brand new virus. Eastern Health's contact-tracing team is made up of eight core team members, including, from left, Lesley Ranson, Kelly John, Joy Loveys and Andrea Doyle. Don't get me wrong; there were times in the most current outbreak we thought we were losing control of the virus. At times, like I said, we felt like we were dealing with a totally new virus.
