Nairobi has been hit by devastating floods following heavy overnight rainfall, leaving 23 people dead and causing widespread disruption across the city. The floods have damaged property, forced road closures, and displaced residents in several parts of Nairobi. Key highways such as Uhuru Highway, Mombasa Road, the Thika Superhighway, Jogoo Road, Enterprise Road, and Lang’ata Road have also been impacted, with some sections impassable due to rising waters. Authorities continue to coordinate relief efforts, focusing on rescuing trapped residents and preventing further loss of life. Muchiri emphasised the commitment of the NPS and partner agencies to public safety.
