Deadly earthquake: Days before Kaikoura's water supply restored

A slip blocking the Clarence River near Kaikoura breached around 4.20pm and a large wall of water was flowing downstream. Civil Defence was considering using private bores to supply water and urged residents to conserve water. Kimber is the principal of the three-teacher, 56-pupil Waiau Area School and has been for 25 years.
