The fiancée of a dead soldier has been banned from their home on a Canadian Forces base and has been told she cannot even pick up her breast pump, baby clothes and diapers. Potter and Vail’s parents offered to enter the house under military escort but the Canadian Forces refused that request. But Ottawa lawyer Michel Drapeau, who has represented a number of military families, said what happened to Potter and the Vail family is not that unusual. The Canadian Forces did not explain why it refused to provide the will to Brent Vail. Vail said he has also asked for a list of the medications that military doctors prescribed to his son.
