Dead mermaid found in Hurghada

An old dead sea cow known as the mermaid was found south of the island of Magawish in Hurghada, near the shores of a tourist resort after being washed away by the waves. The Red Sea Protected Areas sector was informed and a team of environmental researchers were dispatched to transfer the body. Ahmed Ghalab, director of the Red Sea Protected Areas, said the examination of the animal’s body revealed that its death was natural due to its old age. The mermaids are marine mammals living in the Red Sea, feeding on marine grasses and are threatened with extinction. Red Sea Protected Areas found in November 2013 and in May 2014 two dead mermaids on the beach of a tourist hotels in Safaga.
