A botched shot on the ninth ball by Magi gave the Philippines a chance to extend the game to a 14th rack but Gomez likewise failed to pocket the ninth ball in the corner. De Luna and Gomez will take home $9,000 (P432,000) for making it to the round-of-8 of this 32-team tournament. Trailing at 0-5 in the race-to-7 contest, De Luna and Gomez seized seven straight racks to stun the Americans, 7-5.
