Dbeibeh to visit Tunis tonight

Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, Libya’s outgoing prime minister, is expected to arrive in Tunisia tonight for an official visit, Tunisia media reported on Tuesday. Citing Libyan sources, the Tunisian media said that Dbeibeh will lead a delegation that includes the chief of staff of western Libya forces Mohamed Hadded, the head of intelligence and the head of the internal security service. This is Dbeibeh’s second visit abroad in a few days, after last week’s trip to Algeria. The outgoing premier is trying to revive his leadership after the parliament replaced him with Fathi Bashagha as interim leader in February vote, a move which Dbeibeh rejected as he still refuses to relinquish power. European diplomatic source present in Tunis told Italian news agency Nova that “Tunisia, like Algeria, has now sided with Dbeibeh,”.
