The days are numbered for a large, decrepit, and very prominent Napier landmark. Land Information New Zealand, which is holding the former Napier Hospital’s ‘Hinepare’ nurses home as part of a Treaty settlement landbank, wants to demolish the four-storey building. First identified as being earthquake-prone in 2012, the building was reassessed last year.
