Three days after a passenger was allegedly assaulted by an Air India Express pilot at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the Capital, the Delhi Police on Monday filed an FIR in the matter. “I am aware of the developments in the matter in the past few days and have submitted an official complaint via e-mail to the Delhi Police. On Sunday, the pilot, Virender Sejwal, claimed the incident had been “misrepresented” on social media, “unfairly projecting it as a ‘pilot vs passenger’ dispute”. At the time of the incident, Sejwal was not on official duty and was travelling as a passenger with IndiGo to Bengaluru. In his statement, Sejwal alleged that Dewan verbally abused him without provocation and continued using “abusive, degrading and threatening language” even after being asked to stop.
