Hundreds of eco-activists barricaded bridges, blocked traffic and caused travel chaos during 'a day of rebellion' on the streets of London today in order to force the government to impose radical new laws on climate change. Metropolitan Police said emergency vehicles were hampered from getting across London because of the 'blockade' of five bridges. The force said it had asked all protesters to congregate at Westminster Bridge where officers can facilitate lawful protest. 'Climate change is so important, it's coming over so fast and nothing is being done.' The protesters then moved on to a Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs office and spray painted a wall with the message: 'Climate emergency.
