David Slack: No need to go overboardFAIRFAX NZ David Slack: I see people blanketed up against the cold and sleeping on the hard footpath. Every morning, there they are in the harbour: one, two, sometimes even three or four, huge as an office block. The guy thinks: if I pretend to fall overboard and they have to come back, I'll clean up. I'm imagining a new version of the story in which I'm so sick and unsteady I tip over the side. But from where I'm looking, most of those people aren't waving, they're drowning.
