David Nyika made a bizarre start to his professional boxing career when his fight lasted just 29s in Auckland on Saturday night. The Commonwealth Games double gold medallist recorded a TKO win over Jesse Maio in one of the feature fights on the undercard to the Joseph Parker v Junior Fa promotion. Pampellone is still trying to get to the Tokyo Olympics but will continue to pursue a professional career. Parker’s younger brother John extended his professional career to 6-0 with a unanimous points decision Egelani Taito in a light-heavyweight contest over four rounds. Helu appeared to have done enough to take the decision, but the judges scored the fight: 58-56 Helu, 58-56 Charalampous, and 57-57.
