A lock of David Bowie's hair and a guitar owned by Prince went for a combined total of $210,000 (US$149,807) at an auction over the weekend. The new owner of Bowie's lock of hair is unknown, but Prince's guitar is said to have gone to Indianapolis Colts NFL football owner Jim Irsay. While Heritage Auctions predicted Bowie's hair may reach up to $4000, the item fetched a cool $26,283. The auction listing for Bowie's hair said part of the proceeds will go the Soi Dog Foundation, which aims to improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Thailand.
