David Axelrod blames the brilliance of Judd Apatow's jokes for the Donald Trump presidency

(CNN) Judd Apatow loves politics. So when the two sat down for an hour-long conversation for Axelrod's podcast, "The Axe Files," they uncovered some interesting thoughts on both. "When I worked at the Correspondents' Dinner and gave some jokes that were performed, I was just amazed at how good he [Obama] was at standup," Apatow recalled. Axelrod quipped that Apatow, an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, has to "take some responsibility" for Trump being in the White House . He said some of the lines Apatow wrote for the dinner seemed to inspire Trump to run for office.
