The city shelled out P83.4 million to assist families affected by the floods last year, under the city’s disaster fund. The tropical depression has intensified into a tropical storm as early as 5 p.m., Pagasa said in an earlier advisory. While the tropical storm was not expected to make landfall in Davao City, a tropical cyclone warning signal has been hoisted at Davao Oriental, as well as Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.
