'Datuk' businessman in Jelutong clamping incident surrenders - Nation

GEORGE TOWN: The "Datuk" businessman who allegedly assaulted a security guard, who was filming him trying to remove a clamp from a Mercedes Benz, has surrendered to the police. George Town OCPD Asst Comm Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed that the suspect surrendered himself at the George Town police headquarters in Patani Road at 11am Monday. The 39-second video clip, taken at a condominium in Jelutong near here, showed a man trying to remove the clamp from the right front tyre. ACP Mior Faridalathrash reportedly said the 43-year-old security guard at the condominium claimed he was attacked by the businessman, who is a resident at the condominium, for taking the video on his smartphone. “The suspect had quarrelled with the guard before kicking and punching him for taking a video of him,” he said.
