Jayanthi, Regional Commissioner, Bengaluru, who is holding the concurrent charge of Regional Commissioner, Mysuru, said a decision on the date of Mayoral polls will be taken in Mysuru on January 8. The State government has already issued a notification reserving the post of Mayor to Scheduled Castes woman and Deputy Mayor to Scheduled Tribes woman. Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner G. Jagadeesha too has written to the Regional Commissioner, Mysuru, for fixing a date for the Mayoral polls. Sources in the corporation said the Mayoral polls to elect the last Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the present council could be held after January 15.
