Placed on waivers by the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday, Dano was claimed by the Colorado Avalanche on Monday morning and is staying in the Central Division. Dano joined the Jets in a trade-deadline deal with the Chicago Blackhawks on Feb. 25 of 2016. The deal sent Andrew Ladd to the Jets, who received Dano and a 2016 first-round draft pick that eventually became defenceman Logan Stanley. First of all, the Winnipeg Jets come first, so we would keep the guys that we had kind of next in line for a game. “He’s too young to go through what he went through last year.”Dano had 10 goals and 22 points in 82 games for the Jets.
