Danny Espinosa hit four homers in his last seven games. Espinosa is a key cog in what has been, by some measures, the steadiest defense in the majors this season. Espinosa does not need to jump or spin or hop to get balls to first base from the shortstop hole. So Espinosa waited in Desmond’s shadow for six seasons, and is now chased by Turner’s. They have done that with Espinosa in the center of it all, playing as many games as anyone on their roster this season.
