PHOTO | COURTESYThere was uproar on Thursday after images of pedestrians risking their lives and losing human dignity while crossing a bridge in downtown Nairobi. The pedestrians were forced to use the external side of the bridge by holding onto the barriers and stepping on some huge water pipes that run across the bridge. The situation was made worse as most vehicles sped down the road splashing anyone who crossed the road on the right side. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko said he had sent a team to unclog the section and make it user-friendly for pedestrians.
