Dance scholars showcase flair beyond choreographyBy The Manila TimesIn this age of modernity, there is a tendency to set aside tradition and culture. New forms sprout and prosper, as there are numerous dance genres that continue to develop with time. In 2018, Erehwon Center for the Arts (ECA) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rafael Rivera Benitez and dance teacher Dante Ballesteros thought of forming a resident dance company for the school. The concept gave birth to the Erehwon Dance Scholars program. Initially, 18 Senior High School students (13 girls and 5 boys), aged 14 to 19, from Batasan Hills National High School, Bagong Silangan High School, Diliman Preparatory School, Lyceum of the Philippines Manila, and New Era High School, comprised the members of the scholarship program.
