Conor McGregor has not fought for the UFC since he defeated Eddie Alvarez to become the lightweight champion in November 2016. Earlier this month McGregor hinted about a return when he told TMZ he wanted “A real fight, what’s a real fight? MMA next.”If he does return to the UFC for that real fight, he’s going to have to defend his lightweight title, said UFC President Dana White. “What we have to do is, he needs to defend that title,” White said on FS1. But the UFC boss is hopeful that when he and McGregor do start negotiations, that the lightweight champion is getting a little tired of enjoying his newfound riches.
