Dame Valerie Adams is to at long last receive the shot put gold medal from the 2010 world indoor athletics championships at a presentation in Hamilton on Friday. Adams had originally finished second in the event, but Belarusian Nadzeya Ostapchuk later tested positive for drugs and was stripped of the gold medal. Ostapchuk was stripped of the gold medal by the IAAF and the medals reallocated, after recent retesting of historical samples using new technology. Ostapchuk has been stripped of a number of titles after subsequent testing, including the 2012 Olympics Games shot put gold medal, which was later presented to Adams.
