Sirocco Apartments has issues that might be uneconomic to repair, a court was told. An apartment building's body corporate manager has been ordered to pay nearly $120,000, plus costs and interest, to a buyer misled about its leak problems. When Michael Douglas Roberts paid $397,000 in early 2014 for a 140sqm apartment with a carpark the Sirocco Apartments in Wellington already had several leak problems. But the body corporate manager just said the walkways had been leaking but were fixed, a judge decided. "On the evidence before me, it seems highly unlikely that the Sirocco Apartments will be repaired (except perhaps by a developer)," Justice Susan Thomas said.
