Daily Poll: Should modular housing in Marpole go ahead?

A planned modular housing development in Marpole has left local residents and the city facing off in court. The City of Vancouver is seeking a court injunction to allow construction crews to access a site at Heather and West 57th after protesters blocked the entrance to the site. RelatedResidents and protesters say it’s not the modular housing they oppose, but the proposed mix of tenants. It would include medium- to high-needs individuals, which includes those with criminal histories and a high risk to reoffend. The housing would be located across the street from an elementary school and near a high school, so the protesters are asking the city for a “proper consultation process.”The city said it did host four community information sessions in the neighbourhood as part of its development-permit process and that 650 individuals attended.
