"Probably the most polished [middle infield in my 21 years as head coach]," said Emme, who has announced he is retiring after the season. "We've had some very good middle infields over the years, but these guys make big-league plays. If we don't turn two double plays in the middle during a game, we're surprised, and that doesn't happen at the high school level. And Tommy's not afraid to use them. He's not going to strike out 17 guys, but he's going to let them put it in play."
