Not only is this the second consecutive day in which Covid deaths surpassed 100, but it is also the highest number of Covid deaths reported in a day in the country. The Government Information Department stated that 101 of the latest victims are senior citizens aged above 60 years. The victims include 79 males and 39 females, according to official data. So far, Sri Lanka’s death toll from Covid-19 stands at 5,340.
