Dagoretti’s Orero elected new KSSSA chairman


By PHILIP ONYANGOMore by this AuthorDagoretti High School principal Peter Orero, is the new Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association chairman after being elected unopposed during polls at Jogoo House Nairobi on Friday. The long serving Nairobi Secondary Schools Sports chairman replaces Kimutai Ngetich who passed on in a road accident last September. Orero’s only would be opponent Rodgers Mwafungo, who was the KSSSA acting chairman after Kimutai’s death, stepped down at the 11th hour. Orero said that as a tradition, the first executive committee meeting will ensure at least two women are co-opted into office for gender balance. Also re-elected unopposed were David Ngugi, who will continue serving as secretary general, while Gikonyo Kariuki was also elected treasurer unopposed.
