The long serving Nairobi Secondary Schools Sports chairman replaces Kimutai Ngetich who passed on in a road accident last September. Orero’s only would be opponent Rodgers Mwafungo, who was the KSSSA acting chairman after Kimutai’s death, stepped down at the 11th hour. Orero said that as a tradition, the first executive committee meeting will ensure at least two women are co-opted into office for gender balance. Also re-elected unopposed were David Ngugi, who will continue serving as secretary general, while Gikonyo Kariuki was also elected treasurer unopposed.
