A four-year-old girl was diagnosed with a rare, fatal disease likened to childhood dementia last week. The first signs that Adelei Clarke had symptoms of Batten's disease were innocuous enough - she seemed to be a little clumsy and regularly seemed to be daydreaming. Battens disease has been likened to Alzheimer's due to its degenerative effectsYouth worker David said: 'When Addy's symptoms first started, we just thought she was just daydreaming. 'She didn't learn to talk at a normal rate so we took her to a speech therapist. Adelei was taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon by ambulance after another seizure on the M4 over the summer.
