Could not subscribe, try again later Invalid EmailA "very small number" of welfare payments may be delayed after a computer glitch today, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has admitted. One DWP source insisted it was not true to say all computer systems were down, saying: "It's not like it's Armageddon." Ms Powell tweeted: "Whilst trying to sort an urgent benefits matter for a constituent, I’ve just been told that the entire DWP computer system is down and is likely to be so all day. Separately, a Mirror reader who described themselves as a DWP staffer told us earlier today: "None of the computer systems are working today. However, the number of people whose payments could be delayed by a day is said to be less than 250.
