DU students expelled over exam fraud

The Dhaka University authorities on Tuesday permanently expelled 15 students including two Chhatra League central leaders for their alleged involvement in admission test fraud. The decision was taken in a syndicate meeting on Tuesday night, confirmed DU VC Professor Akhtaruzaman. On January 4, a disciplinary committee of the university recommended expelling these students for adopting unfair means in the admission test and involvement in admission test fraud. Connection of the convicted students with admission test forgery was proved in separate investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department of police and the university’s investigative bodies, Akhtaruzzaman added. BCL General Secretary Zakir Hossain said there was no place for criminals in Chhatra League and they had expelled Rana and Mamun immediately after the allegations were proved.
