A female student of University of Dhaka (DU) died due to alleged wrong medical treatment at the Central Hospital in the capital city on Thursday morning. The deceased was identified as 20-year-old Afia Akter Chaity, a first year student at the zoology department of DU, police said. After the news reached the university campus, agitating students demanded punishment for the doctors responsible for the misdiagnosis. Echoing the protesters, DU Proctor Prof M Amzad Ali said there is evidence that proves that the doctors were negligent. Dhanmondi Model police station OC Abdul Latif said: “Prof M Amzad Ali filed a complaint with the station bringing forth the allegation against the hospital over negligence of duty.
