DU student Sumaiya murder: Mother-in-law placed on 1-day remand

Confirming the matter, inspector Abdul Matin, the investigation officer (IO) of the case, said: "We produced Sumaiya's mother-in-law Syeda Maleka Akhtar and sister-in-law Jakia Yasmin Juthi before the court with a seven-day remand prayer." The court granted a one-day remand for Syeda Maleka Akhtar and asked police to interrogate Jakia Yasmin Juthi at jail gate, added Abdul Matin. Earlier on Friday, Sumaiya's husband Mostak Hossain and father-in-law Zakir Hossain were remanded for three days. The accused are Sumaiya's husband Mostak Hossain, her father-in-law Jakir Hossain, mother-in-law Syeda Maleka Akhtar, and sister-in-law Jakia Yasmin Juthi.
