DU fine arts students dedicated to make Shaheed Minar colourful


As part of the preparations to observe the 21st February (Ekushey February) on Thursday, the students finished painting the pillars of the Shaheed Minar and made colourful designs on the roads at the DU campus on Wednesday. Sima Akter, a student of the Fine Arts Department, said: “The work of paintings at the Minar premises is almost at the end. According to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB/0 officials, there will be a four tier security measure in the Shaheed Minar area, to ensure the security of VIPs and the general public while they place floral wreaths of respect at the Shaheed Minar. DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia on Tuesday said 6,000 police personnel will be deployed at the Central Shaheed Minar alone to keep the area secure. Meanwhile, the “Ekushey Udjapan Samonnay Committee” has finalized a route map for the smooth entry and exit of crowds from the Shaheed Minar area on the day.
