THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said it is currently crafting the country’s artificial intelligence (AI) sector road map in a bid to adopt to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4ID). “The formulation of the AI road map is very important and timely. The Philippines ranked third in the Southeast Asian region in the Government AI Readiness Index 2019,” she added. The road map will conduct an analysis of AI’s impact on the country’s industries and workforce, and recommend policies and programs necessary for success such as AI trainings and labs. Aldaba said the road map is a definite way to achieve the country’s goal of becoming an AI powerhouse in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
