DPWH: Tullahan River wall complete

MANILA, Philippines — The construction of a P46.5-million revetment wall along the banks of the Tullahan River in Quezon City has been completed, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said yesterday. The wall, which is nine meters tall and 461 lineal meters long, would serve as a barrier protecting residents living close to the river in SSS Village, Barangay North Fairview from floods, DPWH-National Capital Region director Melvin Navarro said in a statement. Prior to the construction of the wall, only a dilapidated grouted riprap three meters high served as a barrier during heavy rains. The construction of the river wall was funded under the 2018 General Appropriations Act and was done from February to November last year.
