The Sh21 billion dams scandal probe took centre stage as Deputy President William Ruto visited Elgeyo Marakwet county on Saturday. The DP assured residents that the construction of Arror and Kimwarer dams in the region would on as planned by the government. “We will ensure the dams are developed to completion as part of the Jubilee agenda for development in this region,” Ruto said. Tolgos has openly supported the ongoing DCI probe into the scandal but also wants the dams completed. The governor last week apologised to President Uhuru Kenyatta after five MPs from his county attacked the Head of State over what they termed as targetting DP Ruto using the dams probe.
